LUMINA - you could still get him the iPod Touch and disable the WiFi components - you have to turn off: WiFi, Network, Bluetooth, Location... I think that's it. Just scroll through every item in SETTINGS and disable anything related to WiFi activities. It's great that a lot of these devices enable you to turn the WiFi component off - and then you can use the USB cable to download stuff from the internet (games, apps, music, etc.).

Thank you, Jini! I am particularly excited because YOU did all the research I was going to start doing today. My almost 10 year old was hoping to get an IPod, or an IPod Touch. We decided to wait and get more educated and here, we're ready to go for an MP3 player instead! We are grateful!

Jeremy - cell phones, WiFi and cordless phones all emit RF microwave radiation. Many cordless phones emit higher radiation than a cell phone - see my blog post on Radiation Testing for laptops and cordless phones.

Harrison - then why are the fertility clinics telling men not to keep cell phones in their pockets or place their laptop computers on their lap? Even bestselling author Tim Ferriss figured this out - read his book "The 4-Hour Body" for his story.

Robert - I know nothing about this device - sorry. Try to contact the manufacturer to get the specs on it, then at least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Krisian - To be honest, I've spent the last 2 years reading dozens of reports, research papers, etc. on this topic and I still don't feel I have a handle on how all this technology works, nor how it all works together. I know a guy who installs WiFi networks (and fixes them) and he can't even answer all my questions. That's part of what's so frustrating about trying to figure out what the actual risks are and what the long-term effects are likely to be, and under what conditions. Anyway, your comment made me laugh, so thanks for that - I always appreciate sarcasm done well and yours was top notch!

I really admire your confidence; is there any area of natural science that you don't feel able make proclamations on after 15 minutes of googling? I could really do with some advice on whether I should be worried about recent CERN discovery that neutrinos may be able to travel faster than the speed of light-perhaps you could read a couple of random articles from the web and settle the issue for us?

Hi,

I signed up for a body building plan which requires the wearing of a Body Bugg.
I am concerned about EMGs from product, but can't find anything online that addresses this. Can you tell me anything about the risks.

Thank you very much.

Relay? I am a kid and i have bean surrounded by WiFi since i was 4 years old. Right now i am 13 and i am ok. I think by now i would have a problem like cancer but i do not. I am surrounded by WiFi every minute of every day and i am ok. I do not think that WiFi and cell phones are bad for health i think that they are good because if you are in a emergency and need help and you have your cell phone in your pocket you can call fore help. and if you have WiFi you do not have to be teatherd down on a desk all day. And in a year or two i am getting a i phone :}

Radiation does come from Radio frequencies. The information on your page is misleading and in some cases just wrong. The frequency has nothing to do with the amount of radiation that is emitted. Its the RF wattage! Cell Phones are permitted to operate at higher wattage than unlicensed WiFi and cordless phones.
