Im taking lovastatin for chlorestrol, the side effect of the medication is constipation. Not reading the paper that came with the med i started having more and more infrequent movements. It seems that metamucil or the store brand works very well and it give u a good movement, no pains. I would recomend it to any of the ladies that are battling constipation, It works well for me, one spoonfull every night.

perhaps a stupid question, but is it possible to have both kinds of constipation, peristaltic and stenosis? and if so, any suggestion as to which position would be best?
[i feel like i am struggling with both, but my biggest problem is rectal pain even after i go - i don't have a fissure, hemorrhoids or anything like that (have done all the horrendous tests); i've been told it is probably muscle spasms, but i think it is incomplete evacuation. as susan said, the pain is horrible - my life has been totally wrecked by this for the past 17 years.]

i am looking forward to your new book-
thank you for all your work - you are awesome!

I can't believe you actually did a video on how to go poop!! But I commend you and thank you for doing so as I have had this problem all my life and never ready knew how to make myself go other than use harsh laxatives. I have tried your methods and they have helped some but I will continue because my bowels are not used to going on their own and my sphincter muscles just don't open enough and I know I don't have to tell you the pain that it can produce. Horrible!! and I sometimes am afraid to even try because of the pain. Anyway, thank you so much for being so open and helpful. God Bless You.
